For AI MDVR projects, the exact compliance scope depends on the final configuration—especially whether the system includes wireless radios such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or cellular. In Europe, products with radio functions typically fall under the Radio Equipment Directive (RED); CE marking is applied after conformity assessment under the applicable EU legislation. The EU also maintains separate requirements for EMC and RoHS, and electrical/electronic equipment is generally subject to RoHS substance restrictions.

For automotive electronic sub-assemblies sold into Europe, customers also commonly request UNECE Regulation No. 10 (E-mark / ECE R10) for automotive EMC and type-approval-related acceptance of vehicle electronics. UNECE R10 explicitly applies to vehicles and to electrical/electronic sub-assemblies with respect to electromagnetic compatibility.

For North America, applicable requirements commonly include FCC equipment authorization for RF devices and digital electronics in the U.S., as well as ISED requirements in Canada for licence-exempt radio apparatus and ICES-003 for digital apparatus/interference-causing equipment.
